broken camera, sick babies, and the holidays...not so fun!

Mason made his christmas list

Addison

Mason in his shirt i made him for thanksgiving. i was planning on making all the babies a shirt but i didnt expect to be in the ER the night before Thanksgiving so theirs never happened!

Hello everyone, so i vowed to be better at keeping up on the blog and sure enough...s#*&% hit the fan! so sorry it has been a while. The babies got there first illness and man did it hit hard. The one thing we have been trying to avoid since the babies left the NICU is RSV and sure enough the babies all got RSV! Mr. Luke had it first and he had the worst. I took him to the ER on the day before thanksgiving. we spent a couple hours there and they did a breathing treatment on him and then luckily we were able to go home. At first i didn't think i was going to be able to get out of the car to bring him, it was so hard to image bringing my baby back to the hospital after he had spent the first 6 1/2 weeks in the hospital. I sucked it up and we made it, it was still pretty crappy to watch my baby being worked on by 4 people at once, all those emotions of when the babies were born came rushing back to me. It has some what of a struggle and i am still not over the whole experience of the NICU and we had wonderful care it just that feeling of hopelessness that i struggle with.
On top of all this my camera broke the week before and if you know me you know i like to take lots of pictures of my kiddos, so that was a total bummer. My mother in law is letting me borrow hers thank goodness. My camera is supposed to be fixed the week of Christmas and i dying to get it back. once you get SLR it is hard to go back to a point and shoot camera.

So even with 3 sick babies we still had thanksgiving dinner at our house...i know i am crazy right? Well actually it was nice we didn't have to pack our sick babies up to go anywhere, not that we would of anyways! For the most part my Aunt Val, my mother-in-law Christine, and my mom Gail, did most of the cooking. Sometimes i wonder how "how would we do it without our family?"...i don't think we could function without all of them.

So I figured I only have so many years to dress the babies and Mason in coordinating costumes so i took full advantage this year and dressed Mason up as a fireman and the babies as dalmatians. Thanks to Mason's wonderful Aunt Val and Uncle Gary he even had a fabulous firetruck to go with his costume. Mason helped us decorate the wagon to make it look like a truck but i think he was more excited about getting to use a "pat" as he calls it (that is what "handy manny's" hammer is called)! it actually worked out great the babies fit perfect in the wagon in their bumbo seats and mason helped us pull the wagon to the neighbors house, which was the only house the babies went to, since they are still so small i didn't want to risk them catching a cold. I made the babies costume which turned out to be so easy, thank goodness because i maybe called certain things but "crafty" is not one! i found Mason's costume at Target for $12 which i couldn't pass up! Mason had a blast going from house to house he would ride in the wagon till we got to the house then he would jump out and say "trick or treat" and it was great opportunity to work on our manners since he had to say thank you at every house! nothing like Halloween being a learning experience!
